“Palestinian” President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday his peace negotiators had resigned over the lack of progress in US-brokered statehood talks.

“Peace negotiator” Saeb Erekat is not sure if he spoke about resigning, and needs to talk to his boss Abu Mazen to be sure what has been said.
In an interview with Egyptian CBC television, Abbas suggested the negotiations would continue even if the “Palestinian” peace delegation stuck to its decision.
“Either we can convince it to return, and we’re trying with them, or we form a new delegation,” he said.
It was unclear from Abbas’s interview when the Palestinian negotiators had quit, but Abbas said he would need about a week to resume the talks.
In a statement to Reuters TV on Wednesday, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat did not elaborate on the report of his resignation, but said the sessions with Israel were frozen.
“In reality, the negotiations stopped last week in light of the settlement announcements last week,” he said.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday his peace negotiators had resigned over the lack of progress in US-brokered statehood talks clouded by Israeli settlement building.
The development would mark a new low point for the talks with Israel that resumed in July and which officials from both sides have said have made little headway.

My comment:
I have always said that any “peace negotiations” with the PLO, will become a for of tragic and comic theater. Simply because they do not want peace. But the clowns are surly gathered. The show that are as laughable as any other comedy.
The very idea of the PLO are negotiating with Israel about the 1967 cease fire lines, are absurd. Because the PLO was never there to fight the seven days war. The war was fought by Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. Non of these nations are presently interested to take back what they occupied from 1948 to 1867. Nor are they present at Kerry’s negotiation table.
The PLO is not an elected government. It holds no democratic merits, and it do not represent the Arabs living in the area pulled up for “negotiations’. Be aware that the Hamas controls the Gaza-strip, supposed to be a part of a future Islamic state based on the mountains of Israel.
So, the whole “peace negotiation theater” is rather pathetic.
As I said before: It would be better for John Kerry to return back home. Because you can not spend endless nights talking about the possibility of finding something to talk about. Even Arabs and committed Islamic terrorists gets bored.
